CARTO Joins Databricks at Data+AI Summit

At CARTO  we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be sponsoring  attending and presenting at the 2022 Databricks’ Data + AI Summit taking place virtually and in-person June 27 - 30 in San Francisco  California!

With four days filled with insightful keynotes  enlightening technical sessions  hands-on training and networking opportunities  Databricks’ Data + AI Summit is the largest data and AI-specific conference in the world.

CARTO Sessions at Data+AI Summit 2022

We’ll be presenting two in-person/hybrid sessions and one virtual session at this year’s summit taking place at Moscone South in San Francisco.

Building Spatial Applications with Apache Spark and CARTO

Isabel Pozuelo (Spatial Analytics Expert at CARTO) and Kent Marten (Staff Product Manager at Databricks) will take to the stage at 11:30am (PST) on June 29 for a 40-minute session where they will walk you through the process of building spatial applications with CARTO hosted in Apache Spark - showcasing our Spatial Extension for Databricks.

How JLL Uses Cloud Native Geospatial Analytics

Yanqing Zeng (Lead Data Scientist at JLL) and Luis Sanz (CEO of CARTO) will take to the stage for a 25-minute presentation where they will explore how JLL approaches market analysis using geospatial data  CARTO and Databricks.

From PostGIS to Spark SQL: The History and Future of Spatial SQL

Matt Forrest (our VP of Solutions Engineering) and Ernesto Martínez (one of our Product Managers) will lead a virtual session that dives into the history of Spatial SQL  review the milestones that have defined Spatial SQL as a powerful tool for geospatial analytics and what we can expect for the future in GIS as this language continues to be adopted.
