    CARTO Editor Workflow

    CARTO Editor is a dashboard that contains your datasets and your maps. The following high-level workflow highlights how you can create a map from your dashboard.

    Workflow Details
    Create a new dataset You can upload your dataset using any of the supported geospatial data formats, connect to a public dataset from the Data Library, or create an empty dataset. For details, see Connect Dataset.

    Visualize your data and create a map CARTO Editor contains many features that guide you through the process of creating a map and selecting how your data appears. Use the following task list as guide for some of the main CARTO Editor features:

    - Change your Basemap
    - Visualize how your map appears
    - Edit Map Options
    - Add Map Elements
    - Control the visible features that appear on your published map
    - Apply simple style changes with the map wizard
    - Manage your data
    Publish and share your map Once you visualize and publish a map, you can get a link to share the map, embed it to a website or blog, or add your map to another application.
