Juan Murillo is in charge of Analytics Dissemination and Data for Social Good at BBVA Data & Analytics, a new Technology company created to extract the value enclosed on financial data. In this innovative framework he and his colleagues are currently exploring the possibilities of data reuse to create new informational services and provide macroeconomic insights built upon microtransacional data. As an output of this research process around smart cities analysis, he has been co-author of several scientifc papers in cooperation with MIT Senseable City Lab and other institutions.

Jimena is a Geodesy and Cartography Engineer who has worked for different companies and organisations in technical and management roles. She started her PhD in 2011, which took her to The Netherlands and later to Canada, where she researched about Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), geodata integration, and geosemantics. Before she joined CARTO in 2017 as a Solutions Engineer, Jimena co-founded an Engineering firm and a tech NGO, to help spread the use of FOSS4G and maps in cultural and humanitarian projects. She is interested in climate change issues and social justice activities.
