Coming Soon: A Week of Geospatial at #SDSC23 London
The first Spatial Data Science Conference of the year is fast approaching! Having gathered more than 400 attendees in London last year, we're looking forward to welcoming spatial data scientists, geospatial academics & data leaders back to the geospatial event of the year!
Now in its seventh year, the Spatial Data Science Conference has the goal of driving geospatial innovation by bringing together experts in Data Science, Advanced Analytics & Geospatial experts to discuss the latest trends and use cases. This event attracts attendees from across the globe across multiple industries in the public & private sectors, as well as research & academia.
This event represents an opportunity for organizations to collaborate, network and build relationships to further drive geospatial conversation and innovation.

The main conference will be taking place on May 18th, at The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). Founded in 1830 to advance geographical science, we’ll be returning to this renowned institution.
#SDSC23 will feature keynote speakers & panels with topics spanning multiple industries & fields. Hear from Location Intelligence Managers like Priyanka Sharma from Booking.com in her talk “Beyond Maps & Guides: How Location Intelligence is Redefining Destination Discovery.” You can also expect to hear lightning talks from Data Scientists like Tim Rains & Matthew Garrod from BT Group and Louise Etherden from CACI.

On May 17th, we will be hosting technical Workshops at University College London (UCL). Whether you’re more interested in Spatial SQL or Python, we’ll be holding interactive sessions so that you can learn from industry specialists from AWS, Snowflake, Echo Analytics, University of Hull, ProjectiveGroup & our own CARTO team.

- From Data to Action: Decision Science for Accelerated Business Results (Kadir Karakus, Head of Data at Echo Analytics)
- The Transnational Urbanisation of the North Sea (Dean Page, Postgraduate Researcher at University of Hull)

After a day of learning, we will be hosting a networking happy hour so you can share what you’ve learned with other attendees.

To kick off the week, on May 16th we will be hosting GeoFest - a pre-party to all of the upcoming Geo-festivities - at the Munich Cricket Club for an Oktoberfest-themed evening of food and drink.
