Expand your analysis with the new CARTO Workflows Extensions
Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Workflows Extension Packages for CARTO! You can now extend the capabilities of our low-code analytics tool CARTO Workflows by creating, integrating and distributing custom components tailored to your specific spatial analytics needs. Automate repetitive tasks, ensure compliance with organizational processes, and share custom geospatial tools across your team with ease. Keep reading to learn how to get started!
For organizations relying on spatial analytics, repetitive processes and a lack of standardized approaches can at best slow down decision-making, and at worst risk inconsistent results. Without tools to automate these common workflows or ensure compliance, teams may face:
- Inefficient workflows due to time wasted repetitive tasks that could be automated.
- Inconsistent results caused by variability in how spatial problems are solved across projects.
- Knowledge silos with teams and departments struggling to share processes or workflows.
Enter CARTO’s Workflows Extension Packages! Solve these challenges by empowering your teams to build, automate, and share reusable components tailored to their specific needs.
Workflows Extension Packages allow users to extend the functionality of CARTO Workflows by creating custom components - effectively SQL stored procedures - that automate common tasks and enforce consistency. These components can be grouped, packaged, and shared across teams and organizations.
Key features include:
- Customizable Components: create SQL-based components to fulfill your organization’s analytical needs.
- Seamless Distribution: share custom packages for easy installation and management.
- Enhanced Productivity: extend the capabilities of CARTO Workflows with reusable, purpose-built tools.
In addition to enabling users to create their own extensions, we’re also sharing a selection of extension packages that CARTO has developed. These provide ready-to-use tools for common analytical needs, and include:
- Telco Signal Propagation Models: model signal propagation to optimize network planning with this purpose-built package, with functions including Path Profile, Close In and Extended HATA propagation models.
- Google Environment APIs: Integrate environment data into your geospatial analyses with tools like the Solar API for building energy insights, the Air Quality API for real-time and historical conditions, and the Pollen API for allergen forecasts.
- BigQuery ML: easily create, train and use machine learning models in Google BigQuery leveraging its native ML capabilities.
- Google Earth Engine Integration: seamlessly integrate Google Earth Engine data into your workflows, with functions including Get Elevation, Get NDVI and Get Precipitation. You can see this extension in action in our upcoming webinar with Google: Analyzing the Earth at Scale.
